Our second graders are working on investigating word patterns, vowel teams and consonant blends that will help them as super spellers.  We also will have 5 core words that we will be practicing each week.  These words are high frequency words that students will be expected to spell correctly, especially in their everyday writing.   Please look for our weekly words on your child’s Daily News for Monday.   We will also do a “quick check” every Friday on the 5 core words for the week.

 There is a GREAT website linked on our blog under the word study tab entitled WORD STUDY FUN.   It provides various games and visualization strategies to help our second grade spellers.  It is arranged by unit and matches up to our words perfectly each week.
