Our little scientists/writers are doing research on the topic of LANDFORMS (mountains, hills, plateaus, islands and peninsulas). We have done our research through photographs, book reading and from videos. Keeping track of our research by confirming what we know is true and adding new learning, will be helpful as we prepare to create a research report. Look for our finished research report in a few weeks :).
Our second grade scientists created landform posters which described the different aspects of landforms. We have learned about mountains, hills, plateaus, valleys, islands and peninsulas. Check out a few of our expert posters:
It is so hard to believe that we are already in APRIL!!!!!
Today we kicked off our study of Earth’s Land and Water by discussing and listing ways that we can “LOVE” the Earth. Some of our ideas were:
* Picking up trash in the neighborhood
* Reusing plastic grocery bags
* Recycling paper
* Recycling pop cans and donating the money
Earth is our home and we want to take care of it so that are children can enjoy it too :). In the next few weeks we will be investigating various landforms and bodies of water that we find on Earth by building models, creating brochures and doing virtual traveling using Google Earth.
