Our second grade writers are working on brainstorming writing ideas by recalling things/people/places that are important to them. They also reflect on times when they had strong feelings of being happy, sad, frustrated, angry,etc.

After we have a story idea, it is important to rehearse or practice how the story will go. Just like athletes and musicians, writers need practice too! Today we compared the difference between a big idea story and a small moment story. We are off to a great start in writer’s workshop!
